bodu music, designing websites for bands, record lables, singer-songwriters, and publicists

The web has obviously revolutionised the way we discover new music, listen to our favourite bands, and buy our 'records'. It's one area where you can't afford to be offline. The advantages for up-and-coming musicians are obvious - where once the only way to get your music heard by someone outside of your immediate vicinity was to sign a record deal, now you can upload tracks to myspace and have them heard across the globe with the click of a mouse. That's only a fraction of the battle though.

But I already have a myspace page!

A myspace page is a good and invaluable step for any band (the biggest and the best are all up there), but we suggest that it's just one piece in a complex jigsaw puzzle that you, as an artist, need to figure out - and we're here to help you.

There are a number of reasons why you need more than just a myspace page. First off is the flexibility. If you have your own website, it's designed to your specifications - not the 'one-size-fits-all' approach that myspace, by necessity, takes. Sure you can modify your myspace page, so that it looks great (and we include myspace integration in our bodu music packages), but you can't get around the fact that the basic structure remains the same.

The second reason is independence. You set up your page on a service like myspace, spend time customising it, building up a following, adding tracks etc, only to find that for some reason your account gets suspended. It's a doomsday scenario, but one that is all too possible - and where does that leave you? It means you dissappear online overnight - only to have to rebuild everything from scratch, and that takes time.

Having your own website allows you to present yourself in your own terms, and gives you the peace of mind that comes from knowing that you are firmly in control of your online identity. That's not to say you ignore the various different services available - far from it. We'll integrate services like myspace, facebook, and twitter into your website allowing you to attract a new audience from across different platforms, constantly bringing them to the best place to learn about your music - your website.

The only thing that could be stopping you from setting up a website is price. Well, the good news is that - at least with Bodu Web - a website probably costs a hell of a lot less than you imagine. Get in touch with us for a free quote.
