What kind of look should my website have?
It can have whatever type of look you want - but let's give you a suggestion. Think of the type of audience you're hoping to reach. If you sell books on history, the chances are that your visitors won't be impressed by a psychadelic flashing backdrop.
If you already have a company logo, you should really incorporate it into the site design - and that will help determine the look of the site.
If you're starting from scratch, we can work on logo design for you.
It's always worth pointing out that the function of the web site is important, not just the form. Unless your business is connected with art, most people arriving at your site will be looking for textual information - be it your address, company info etc. It's important that the site looks well, and creates the right impression, but it should not obscure the functionality.
It's also worth keeping in mind that the way people view websites is changing. As technology advances, more and more people are using mobile devices like telephones to access web pages. Depending upon your aim, it can be counterproductive to build a site primarily arranged around beautiful graphics, only to find that they make the webpage impossible to read in certain formats.
You can, of course, have the best of both worlds - and provide different formats for visitors depending upon their needs, including a text-only version of your site.
