bodu sites, designing websites for small businesses, associations, and organisations

Bodu Academic was set up, after a number of succesful projects done for individual academics, conferences, and study centres. Information sharing is central to academia, but unfortunately often that process is slowed down, at least online, by bureacracy and external dependencies. Bodu Web offers a number of solutions to that problem.

Web Sites for Study Centres

Setting up a study centre / think tank is a big job - bringing together suitable academics with varied but complementary research interests, searching for funding, enrollments etc. The last thing you want is a complicated process to get your website up and running - and a website will be a vital element to creating an identity for your centre.

We have the experience to offer you concrete and efficient solutions for your centre's website. We also have the experience to ask you the right questions, to help you get a clear idea of what your website should/shouldn't be. Add on to this our long experience of online marketing and search engine optimisation, and you have the perfect solution for your online needs

We can offer

Web Sites for Conferences

Bodu Academic is the perfect choice for your conference website needs. We can get the website setup, according to your guidelines and specifications, quickly and efficiently, allowing you to use the site as an effective tool for promoting the event, managing registrations, keeping participants up to date, and a host of other functions.

During the actual conference, the site can be used to gather feedback, to keep attendees in contact, to publish footnotes etc. It can become a virtual noticeboard, and forum for exchanging ideas - enhancing the value of the conference for those participating and attending.

After the conference, your website can be used to document the event. Presentations can be further discussed, papers can be published, and updates can be given to attendees regarding future events.

Web Sites for Individual Academics

Why should I set up my own site, when I already have a dedicated page on my department's site?

There are two fundamental reasons why every Academic should consider her/his own personal website. The first is pragmatic. How often have you given up trying to get your page updated with important information - latest publications, speaking engagements etc - because you're at the mercy of someone in the IT department who has dozens of similar requests to deal with. Your page then becomes little more than a footnote. A shame, when it could be so much more.

The second reason follows on from the first. Having your own website allows you to frame how you're viewed online, and allows you to place the emphasis where you choose. Having your own website allows you to work in synergy with the institutional website, but with a degree of indpendence - it will also make you stand out from the crowd (in more ways than one - if you have a well optimised site you're more likely to be found when people search using terms related to your research).

Your own website will give you independence and flexibility - and should you change institution no information will be lost. Your site will become an evolving structure, and at the same time a fixed point of reference.

What's stopping you? Cost? You'd be surprised how cheap, and good value a site can be. Get in touch and we'll explain the options and prices available.
